Develop a Budget
Once you have a plan, it’s time to create a budget. We know every dollar counts, which is why our knowledgeable sales consultants will work with you to help create a home you love, within your budget.
There are 3 main components to the home building process:
Land
The price of the property
Site
Costs associated with preparing your land for building including lot clearing, water wells, power, etc.
House
The cost to build your home from the ground up
Design Your Home
Once you’ve selected a BW Artisan home plan, and exterior look that appeals to you most, it’s time to customize it to your family’s lifestyle. You can personalize any of our home plans or elevations (exteriors) to your preference. Not only do you have the opportunity to select brick, paint, floor coverings, roof color, and appliances, but you can also move walls, add closet space, add square footage, and almost anything else to make your home uniquely your own.
Get Your Upfront Price
At BW Artisan, we believe that the price of your home should not come with surprises, so we don’t price our homes by the square foot or using allowances. Once you’ve designed your home to your liking, a sales consultant will provide you with an upfront turnkey price. The price we quote is for your completed home as specified. As long as you meet your owner’s responsibilities to prepare for construction and the specifications for your home remain the same, the price of your new home will not change from the day you signed your contract.
Sign a Contract
After you’ve selected your home and customized it to fit your needs, its time to review drawings and specifications. Once approved, we will be ready to sign a contract! We will then begin planning for construction, including scheduling a timeline, acquiring the proper permits, and preparing the land for building your home.
Preparing Your Land
Before construction can begin on your home, there are a few necessary items that need to be completed. Some sites require clearing or grading before anything can happen. Soil tests, surveying, and plot plans, as well as permits are just a few of the things that need to be addressed before construction begins. Our experienced sales team members will provide our customers with the information they need to understand the entire process and each phase of construction.
Design Meeting
After signing a contract for us to build your home, we will schedule a meeting with our In-House Designer at our Design Center to select all the finishes in your home. You can also request a cabinet meeting with our In-house cabinet designer if you are wanting to make changes to the standard cabinet or closet designs.
Construction
Once everything is prepared, it’s time to break ground! After construction begins, you will be in constant communication with our team. While you may not always see activity at your home site, you can be sure that there is always something being worked on in the overall build of your home. Our building timeline for the completion of your home is roughly 8 months after breaking ground.

Final Walk-Through & Move-In

Warranty
Just because we’re finished building your home does not mean you are on your own. We have a warranty lead that will help take care of any issues that may arise.
